Housing Mission:
Southwest Florida GWI Housing, Inc. provides barrier-free housing for persons with physical disabilities providing the opportunity for affordable, convenient, independent living to enhance the overall quality of life.
Goodwill Housing:
Goodwill’s HUD-approved apartment complexes are specifically designed to accommodate people with disabilities. The one and two bedroom apartments are constructed with conveniences like lowered sinks, counter tops, mirrors, accessible appliances, and easy roll-in showers. Each complex has an on-site community room, laundry facility and picnic/patio area. All of our apartment complexes are built in areas with easy access to public transportation, shopping centers, banks, and schools.
Goodwill housing complexes are currently located in Cape Coral, Fort Myers, North Fort Myers, Lehigh Acres, Punta Gorda, and Port Charlotte. Complexes in LaBelle and Clewiston are slated to open in 2010.
The Hatton B. Rogers Retirement Community:
This 54-unit North Fort Myers apartment complex provides income-subsidized housing for seniors 62 years or older. Residents do not have to have a physical disability to qualify for occupancy, and must be able to live independently.
Goodwill partners with Senior Friendship Centers of Lee County to provide meals and activities for Hatton B. Rogers residents.
